Hanna Gawron

My name is Hanna and I'm currently studying Psychology in London. As a teenager, I spent altogether over a year in inpatient mental health care, and made a promise to myself that I would return to help invest in the lives of young people who face similar experiences. As a young person, especially struggling with mental health challenges, it can be easy to feel like the voices of professionals and carers are overpowering your own.

The Human Rights Act is crucial in giving young people the confidence to advocate for themselves when facing challenges to their own Human Rights. I have been working with BIHR for two years now on NHS staff training, and am eager to continue working with the RITES Committee to protect our Human Rights Act.
