2017: Maria Moskova When did you intern at BIHR? I interned at BIHR in the summer of 2017, between my second and third year of studying English and European Law at QMUL. What were you doing before your BIHR internship? I had a summer internship with Maples and Calder, which enabled me to gain an insight into commercial law. I also completed pro bono placements with Dentons, BCLP and Clifford Chance. What did you do during your BIHR internship? The internship improved my understanding of human rights, its interplay with other legislation and its practical implications. I wrote case commentaries and conducted legal research on different issues, such as the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017 and potential accountability under the Human Rights Act 1998. I also proofread funding applications and learned more about the operation of a charity organisation. What did you do after your BIHR internship? Following my summer internship with BIHR, I went on a year abroad in Denmark where I studied at the University of Copenhagen. I really enjoyed my time there so I moved back after graduating from QMUL. Currently, I am an Associate at Capital Four Management - an investment firm in Copenhagen. Although I work in a different industry, I often use the transferable skills which I developed during my time as an intern with BIHR.
