Here you can find BIHR's latest commentary and analysis on the changes to law and policy and what they mean for people's human rights in their everyday lives. The issues we are concerned with reflect those of the people we work with and support, in particular:

  • rights to life, freedom from harm, liberty, family and private life (including relationships, choice and autonomy and where people live) and non-discrimination
  • the rights of people placed in vulnerable positions, including disabled adults and children, those with learning disabilities and Autism, older people, and other care and support needs
  • the rights of staff on the frontline delivering vital services and the expectations placed on them to make appropriate decisions in this situation, including those in social work, health, care, education and housing.
