Are you a highly organised person, with project management experience who is passionate about the role human rights can play in the UK? Do you want to be at the forefront helping people to know what human rights are, to put human rights into practice, taking them off the law books and into our communities, and to ensure those in power respect and progress our legal framework?

BIHR is looking for a motivated, methodical and dynamic person to join our highly respected team as a Senior Human Rights Officer. You will bring at least four years of project management skills (or equivalent) delivering multiple programmes and have a good working knowledge of UK human rights law and what it means in practice outside of the courts. You will be an excellent communicator demonstrating the ability to build strategic relationships and influence decision-makers, as well as delivering training and educational resources.

You will be committed to working in a busy small team. Although based in London, BIHR works across the UK, this post therefore involves regular travel and overnight stays.

To apply for this post please read the job description and personal specification, and complete the application form and equality and diversity form. CVs or cover letters will not be considered. Incomplete application forms will not be considered.

Completed applications must be received by 12 noon Monday 11th May 2015.  Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted (in the week commencing 25 May 2015). If you have not heard from BIHR by 5 June please assume you have not been shortlisted. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 8 June 2015.

Applications should be sent to Woody Faulkner by email to marked “Senior Human Rights Officer Application [FIRST NAME, LAST NAME]” in the subject line. Please save and send your application form as a Word (or PDF) file called SrHRO_FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME.
