Please note that in order to be eligible to attend this session you should also be available to attend the second session in the series on Thursday 30 August from 10:00 - 15:00 (also at Queen Mary University of London). Details about the second session will be sent to you separately.BIHR is pleased to be able to offer two sessions designed for practitioners working in mental health in East London. Our Human Rights Summer School will provide a practical introduction to human rights and mental health, and how human rights can be used to secure positive change in mental health services. There will also be an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a new online tool for people who use services and those who support them, to help them find out more about human rights and how to speak up when their rights are not being respected.

These free sessions are primarily for advocates (IMHAs / IMCAs / other advocacy roles) however other practitioners are welcome to attend if there is space available. The summer school will comprise two sessions, one introductory and one follow-up. Please note attendees should be able to commit to attending both sessions. If you are only able to attend the introductory session we may still be able to accommodate you, but only if there is space.

We look forward to seeing you there!
