Wednesday 14th June 1:30pm-4.30pm

‘Mental Health, Mental Capacity and Human Rights: Cross sector collaboration’ will take place in Brighton on Wednesday 14th June. The learning event provides a space for people working on mental health or mental capacity in the public or voluntary and community sectors to think about how human rights can help them to work collaboratively to improve services locally.

Whether you work in service design or delivery, for an advocacy or support group, as a regulator or a Commissioner, come along and join the discussions. The session will cover:

  • Human rights and mental health/capacity: what you need to know
  • Using human rights across the sectors: real life examples
  • Working collaboratively: using human rights to improve services

You will receive a copy of BIHR’s new suite of resources on Mental Health, Mental Capacity and Human Rights, which empower people using services about their own human rights and what they can expect from services.

This event is part of the final series of events sharing the learning from a three year project, Care and Support: A Human Rights Approach to Advocacy, funded by the Department of Health. We will also be holding events in other areas: London, Leeds, Exeter, Blackburn and Norwich.
