BIHR's 40th Anniversary Appeal

Founded in 1970, the British Institute of Human Rights has been working for forty years to promote a society in the UK in which everyone is treated with respect, fairness, dignity and equality.

As an independent human rights charity, BIHR relies on the support of people who care about human rights to help cover our core operational costs. Our funded projects, which are making a real impact on people’s lives, rely on our basic, minimal requirements including office space, administration and our ability to ensure our sustainability through fundraising.
To help safeguard BIHR’s capacity to maintain and build on the success of our projects for another 40 years, we are working hard to:
  • raise £40,000 in our Anniversary year
  • recruit 40 new donors to give to BIHR through monthly donations of either £4, £40, or even £400 a month
With deep cuts to public services there is more need than ever to enable organisations working with and for vulnerable people to respect and defend basic human rights. To help us achieve this you can set up a monthly gift or make a donation to our '£40,000 for our 40th' Anniversary Appeal.
The Anniversary Appeal was launched at a reception hosted by Clifford Chance LLP on November 17 2010. You can read more about the event here.
