Through our projects, we work in partnership with a wide range of organisations, supporting them to develop and test the application fo human rights based approaches in particular areas such as strengthening the voices of people experiencing poverty or better quality health and social care. In essence, a human rights based approach is the process by which human rights principles and standards are put into practice or made real in people's lives.
Our current project areas include:
Work on developing human rights based approaches in practice is still relatively new within the UK and BIHR firmly believes that this should move forward via collaboration between those with human rights knowledge and skills, and those with knowledge and expertise in particular sectors or on particular issues. For these reason all of projects in which we are currently involved are being developed and delivered in collaboration with others.
