In addition to our own policy network, BIHR is a member of a range networks and alliances and aims to work in partnership and collaborate with a broad spectrum of organisations and individuals to demonstrate the value of human rights.
Our work in this area includes:
Equality and Diversity Forum
The EDF is a network of national organisations committed to equal opportunities, social justice, good community relations, respect for human rights and an end to discrimination based on age, disability, gender and gender identity, race, religion or belief, and sexual orientation. Our work with the EDF has included collating case studies illustrating how human rights have been used to protect people from discrimination and exclusion and lobbying the Secretary of State for Local Government and Communities to champion the values in the Human Rights Act.
NCVO Policy Forum
The NCVO Policy Forum is an online network run by the NCVO which aims to strengthen the skills, knowledge and expertise of campaigners and policy workers across civil society. In June 2009 BIHR lead a seminar for forum members on using human rights based approaches in policy work. For further information click here.
The Children's Rights Alliance England
BIHR is a member of CRAE's Strategic Litigation for the Rights of Children (SLRC), a professional network to foster and promote the use of strategic litigation to improve respect for children's human rights and equality in England and a member of its Child Rights Bill Coalition.
