Changing the Face of Human Rights: Events

Changing the Face of Human Rights Conference

Our annual conference held in January 2009 brought together journalists, lawyers, community representatives, academics, artists, politicians and public officials to discuss how human rights are understood in the UK and explore ways of making them more relevant to people's everyday lives. Watch a video of 'vox pops' from the conference and read our post-conference write up here.

Open Public Lectures

Our renowned Lunchtime Lectures, now in their 23rd year, are a fantastic opportunity to question high profile speakers on a range of human rights issues. You can read more about the lecture series and download transcripts and extracts from past lectures here.

ISIS Films Launch

The ISIS films were launched on Friday 29 May in London at Amnesty International's Human Rights Action Centre. Over 200 people gathered to watch a screening of three short human rights documentaries followed by an open discussion with the films' directors about the issues and inspirations behind their work. Since September 2008, BIHR has been partnering with the Documentary Filmmakers Group on ISIS, a groundbreaking documentary production and training initiative. Read more about the project here
