Today, on the 12th anniversary of the Human Rights Act becoming law, BIHR delivered a huge number of #Act campaign postcards to the Commission on a UK Bill of Rights. The #Act campaign was launched in September 2012 to engage people in debates about the protection of our human rights in the UK and includes a postcard action to help people respond to the Commission’s second consultation paper. People across the UK sent in piles of postcards sharing heartfelt, reasoned, professional and personal messages about why the Human Rights Act should be here to stay and why the Commission’s report should safeguard rather than threaten this vital law.
