By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Understand the core principles, standards and features of human rights and how rights 'work'
- Explain the key purpose and features of human rights legislation relevant to the UK, in particular the Human Rights Act
- Understand how human rights relate to equality and diversity
- Have greater confidence in raising human rights concerns and in identifying human rights issues in their work
The course is designed for individuals working on equalities issues in the public or third sectors. A good level of knowledge about equalities is assumed, but no prior knowledge of human rights is required.
